EDS takes $200M in eTravel work

EDS has won five new contracts and an extension of an existing agreement, which is worth more than $200 million under the General Services Administration's eTravel Service contract vehicle, EDS officials announced.

The new contracts are with Homeland Security, Commerce, Housing and Urban Development and Veterans Affairs departments and the International Trade Commission. The Agriculture department expanded its current contract.

The contracts are for services that EDS will provide through its FedTraveler.com Web site.

Since GSA launched the program, EDS has won task orders from nine federal agencies, totaling more than $370 million, company officials said. EDS became one of three eTravel vendors after successfully protesting the initial award in 2003.

In conjunction with partners, EDS employees developed the FedTraveler site to provide management tools for the planning and authorizing travel, making reservations, processing expense vouchers, and detecting fraudulent use of travel cards.
