McClure to join Gartner
The vice president for e-government at the Council for Excellence in Government, will join Gartner on Jan. 31.
Dave McClure, vice president for e-government at the Council for Excellence in Government, will be joining Gartner Inc. January 31 as research director of its government research organization.
John Kost, managing vice president for Gartner's Global Public Sector research group, said McClure brings valuable experience in government management to Gartner's clients. His expertise includes preparing business cases, analyzing returns of investments, purchasing and competitive sourcing.
McClure said that the Gartner position "is a nice fit for me." He said he had been looking to get over to "research, best practices and engagement" with government customers.
"I have always had a background in best practices and working with [chief information officers] to implement solid business practices in IT" and performance management, he said.
McClure said he will focus primarily on the U.S. federal government, but he will work with international government as well. He will work with the Gartner's consulting group as well.
