The Social Security Administration will collect and compare income, benefits and other personal information from several agencies related to seniors applying for assistance under the new Medicare drug benefit.
The Social Security Administration will collect and compare income, benefits and other personal information from several agencies related to seniors applying for assistance under the new Medicare drug benefit.The computer-matching program, published in today’s , takes effect in 30 days. Social Security will collect personal data to see if it matches information that an individual has provided to show eligibility for prescription drug assistance under the new Medicare Part D program, such as the Medicare Savings Program, transitional assistance drug cards and subsidized drug coverage. Social Security will then identify these individuals to the states.Social Security will provide reports about the computer matching program to Congress and the Office of Management and Budget.Social Security will develop a computer-matching program with:
