Air Force to replace IT purchase system
The Air Force plans to use performance-based contracting to acquire AFWAY II.
The Air Force wants to replace Air Force Way (AFWAY), the service’s online purchasing and tracking system for information technology products.
The Air Force posted an announcement May 26 on the Federal Business Opportunities’ Web site requesting information from industry on how to procure and build AFWAY II. The service included questions that companies must answer by June 15.
The Air Force plans to use performance-based contracting to acquire AFWAY II. The service wants to hire a company to build the new system in increments and to provide personnel to maintain it.
