Navy work goes to CACI

CACI International officials said today that they landed a $73 million contract to provide program management and technical services to the Naval Air Systems Command (Navair).

The contract falls under the auspices of Navair's Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division, based in Patuxent River, Md.

CACI’s new three-year contract represents a significant expansion of work the integrator began under the original Navair contract about seven years ago, according to a CACI spokeswoman. About 56 people have been assigned to the contract, including CACI and subcontractor employees.

Under the contract, CACI will support the Naval Aviation Readiness Integrated Improvement Program, which provides guidance for meeting the Naval Aviation Enterprise’s readiness objectives.

CACI also will back the Navy's AIRSpeed effort, which the improvement program has adopted as the "approved naval aviation integration and modernization solution to share best business practices throughout the Naval Aviation Enterprise," according to the Web site of the Pacific Fleet’s Naval Air Force. Those best practices include management approaches.

Other CACI wins at Navair include a $135 million blanket purchase agreement under Navair's Business and Financial Community Multiple Award Contract. That pact was announced in January 2005.
