Anteon, UTC win Air Force Contract

The Air Force has awarded Anteon and Universal Technology Corp. (UTC) a $99.7 million indefinite delivery, indefinite quantity contract for technical management services.
The contract, called Technical Operations Program Support (TOPS) III, will support the Air Force Research Laboratory’s Materials and Manufacturing Directorate. Anteon and UTC will compete for task orders over the six-year course of the contract. TOPS III encompasses areas ranging from software to materials technology.
Anteon held the original TOPS contract from 1994 to 1999, but the project became a small-business set aside for its second iteration, according to an Anteon spokesman. The TOPS III procurement combined full-and-open competition and small-business components.
The spokesman said Anteon has a number of projects with the Materials and Manufacturing Directorate, which is based in Dayton, Ohio. The company supports the directorate through its General Services Administration’s Management, Organizational and Business Improvement Services contract. Anteon provides advisory services under that contract. Anteon’s $49 million Manufacturing Technology contract, awarded last September, provides another example.
The spokesman said Anteon may grow its Dayton presence through TOPS III.
