Encore services procurement gets a raise
DISA raises the contract ceiling by $500 million, with Encore II slated for award by March 2006.
DISA Notice of Increase In ENCORE I Ceiling
The Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) raised the ceiling for its Encore I task order contract from $2 billion to $2.5 billion to cover any information technology support requirements until the follow-on $10 billion ENCORE II contract is awarded next year.
The indefinite-quantity, indefinite-delivery Encore I contract, awarded in March 2002, provides DISA with a vehicle to procure a wide range of services, including enterprise IT policy and planning, integrated solutions management, performance benchmarking, business process re-engineering, requirements analysis, market research and prototyping, information and knowledge engineering, custom application development, product integration, testing and evaluation, and licensing and support.
The contract is open to the Defense Department, all the military services and other federal agencies.
The Encore I database, which the Defense Information Technology Organization maintains, shows that DISA has awarded 1,828 task order contracts with a total value of $959.5 million to nine prime contractors: Analytical Services, Computer Sciences Corp., EDS, Lockheed Martin Integrated Systems, Northrop Grumman Information Technology, Northrop Grumman Mission Systems, Pragmatics, TranTech and Unisys.
DISA said it expects to award the 10-year Encore II contract in the second quarter of the 2006 fiscal year which ends next March. The Encore I contract runs though March 2009.
