The former Air Force CIO will manage SRA's defense business.
John Gilligan, former chief information officer of the Air Force, is joining SRA International as vice president and deputy director of the company’s Defense Sector.
Gilligan will start his new job Aug. 29, according to an SRA announcement. His responsibilities will include managing, staffing and marketing SRA’s business with the Defense Department, Defense agencies and the armed services.
Gilligan left the Air Force May 10. He had been named CIO there in 2001, and previously held the positions of principal deputy assistant secretary of the Air Force for business and information management and deputy CIO. Before his Air Force assignments, Gilligan was CIO at the Energy Department.
