Meyerrose picked for DNI CIO post

President Bush nominated Air Force Maj. Gen. Dale Meyerrose Aug. 25 to serve as chief information officer of the new Office of the Director of National Intelligence.

Meyerrose previously served as director of architectures and integration at Northern Command and director of command control systems at North American Aerospace Defense Command. He is credited with improving communications related to homeland security between officials and networks at the federal, state and local levels.

An Air Force Academy graduate, Meyerrose entered the service in 1975 and held many information technology positions, including director of communications for Operation Southern Watch in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. He also graduated from the National War College and earned a master’s degree from the University of Utah.
