AtHoc installs warning system for Air Force

AtHoc has installed its IWSAlerts mass notification system at the Air Force’s Air Education Training Command site at Vance Air Force Base, Okla.
The system allows commanders to issue threat warnings -- related to weather or terrorism, for example -- to all computers connected to the base’s networks via a pop-up window and an audio alarm. IWSAlerts is also being installed at the command’s headquarters at Randolph Air Force Base, Texas, according to a Sept. 13 AtHoc statement.
“Vance Air Force Base can now use IWSAlerts to contact its full staff in an average of one minute,” said Guy Miasnik, AtHoc’s president and chief executive officer. “In emergencies, seconds count, and we’re making it possible for the base to quickly reach a broad audience with clear instructions for action.”
Vance Air Force Base has already integrated the system with its outdoor sirens. The base can now send alerts via the siren and the network with a single push of a button, the company said.
