DRC tapped for Air Force net-centric work
The company is upgrading IT at a Langley, Va.-based intell center to improve information-sharing abilities with the other services and coalition forces.
The Air Force has awarded Dynamics Research Corp. (DRC) a $4.5 million contract to update information technology systems in the service’s Command and Control, Intelligence, Reconnaissance and Surveillance Center at Langley Air Force Base, Va.
DRC will work with the center's Directorate of Operations to upgrade systems to make it easier for the service to share data with the other services and with coalition forces.
The company will work on the Air Force’s Air and Space Operations Center, the Global Command and Control System, the Theater Battle Management Core Systems, and the Special Operations Forces/Combat Search and Rescue systems, according to a DRC statement.
“Transforming systems to better meet the net-centric coalition-based environment of the 21st century remains a critical priority for the entire U.S. military infrastructure,” said James Regan, DRC’s chairman and chief executive officer.
Under the contract, DRC will also perform document preparation, policy formulation, program management, requirements development and acquisition management support for current and emerging systems that support air and space operations.
The contract covers one year with two option years. The work started Sept. 15.
