Academy elects 46 new fellows

The National Academy of Public Administration has announced its class of 2005 fellows, a roster that includes many current and former government and industry officials.

Academy fellows conduct commissioned studies for Congress, federal agencies, and state and local governments on a variety of public management issues.

Among the 46 newly elected fellows are:

* John Dyer, chief operating officer at the Department of Health and Human Services’ Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services.

* Mark Forman, a partner at KPMG’s federal civilian preferred services organization.

* Doris Hausser, director of performance and compensation systems design at the Office of Personnel Management.

* Samuel Mok, chief financial officer at the Labor Department.

* Max Stier, president and chief executive officer at the Partnership for Public Service.

NAPA’s more than 600 elected fellows include Cabinet officers, lawmakers, scholars and business executives. The academy will hold induction ceremonies for the fellows class of 2005 Nov. 17 and 18 at its fall meeting in Washington, D.C.
