Apptis scores $100M DHS contract
The integrator will upgrade IT infrastructure for customs as its first task under the new contract, which is its second major DHS agreement.
Apptis, a Northern Virginia-based information technology systems integrator, has just won a second significant contract with the Homeland Security Department, company officials announced today.
DHS awarded Apptis a five-year contract to upgrade DHS’ existing IT infrastructure.
The company signed a blanket purchase agreement on an indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity contract to supply IT solutions and support worth up to $100 million.
Apptis’ first job under the contract is an $8.4-million order to upgrade the IT infrastructure at U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services, a DHS component.
In 2001, the company won a contract with U.S. Customs and Border Protection, another DHS component. The agreement provided more than $100 million in IT infrastructure, products and services.
Apptis’ partnership with Dell was a factor in the contract win, said Apptis President and Chief Executive Officer Steve Baldwin, in a written statement.
