Aquilent gets FirstGov refresh contract
Aquilent has won a contract to take part in desiging and testing FirstGov.gov and FirstGov en Español.
Aquilent has won a contract to take part in designing and testing FirstGov and FirstGov en Español. The contract for updating the portals' technology and appearance comes through the General Services Administration's Office of Citizen Services and Communication.
The initial purchase order is worth $836,000, and the contract has four option years.
Aquilent employees will work in coordination with GSA's team to refresh the look, feel, branding, design and navigation of the two sites. FirstGov and its Spanish-language counterpart give users access to information from various agencies through a single Web site.
The company has been involved with FirstGov since the portal's launch in 2000. "Aquilent has always felt a strong pride in FirstGov," said David Fout, Aquilent's president and chief executive officer.
Much of the subsequent work that Aquilent has done for other federal Web sites has its roots in FirstGov, he added.
The company is the prime contractor on the refresh contract.
