FYI pursues integrator partners

FYI, a data visualization software vendor, is pursuing integrator alliances to expand its government business.

The Melbourne, Fla., company said last week that it is partnering with Northrop Grumman to develop an advanced battlefield management display system. FYI has completed the preliminary design of the system, which replaces text displays of target attributes with graphical representations. FYI said its software will be integrated into several Northrop Grumman-designed systems.

George Eanes, vice president of government business development at FYI, said such alliances help open doors for the company. A small business, FYI is looking for integrators with established customer relationships and contract vehicles.

So far, the company’s integrator partnerships have been conducted job by job, Eanes said. But now FYI plans to pursue strategic alliances. He said the company wants to ally with a group of integrators that “don’t necessarily complete on a head-to-head basis with each other and have their own niches within various government agencies.”

Eanes said FYI has been talking with companies such as Hewlett-Packard, L-3 Communications, Raytheon and Science Applications International Corp.

FYI’s software can be used to visually represent data in applications including battlefield management and enterprise resource planning, according to the company. Eanes said the software’s scope provides integrators an opportunity to grow their businesses.

Eanes would like to see integrators proactively introduce the company's technology to their customer base rather than add the products to a catalog and fill orders when they come in.
