GSA names acting zone leaders
The General Services Administration has named the acting leaders of the six zones that replace the 11 regions it used before the agency's reorganization.
The zones apply only to the newly created FAS. The 11 regions will remain in place for GSA's Public Buildings Service and administrative functions.
The six zones and their acting officials are:
* Zone A (the former New England and the Northeast and Caribbean regions)
Acting FAS Assistant Regional Administrator: Steve Ruggiero.
Acting Deputy FAS Assistant Regional Administrator: Sharon Wal.
* Zone B (the former Mid-Atlantic and National Capital regions)
Acting FAS Assistant Regional Administrator: Jack Williams.
Acting Deputy FAS Assistant Regional Administrator: Paul McDermott.
* Zone C (the former Southeast-Sunbelt Region)
Acting FAS Assistant Regional Administrator: Randall Witty.
Acting Deputy FAS Assistant Regional Administrator: Bill Sisk.
* Zone D (the former Great Lakes, Heartland and Rocky Mountains regions)
Acting FAS Assistant Regional Administrator: Jim Ogden.
Acting Deputy FAS Assistant Regional Administrator: Michael Gelber.
* Zone E (the former Greater Southwest Region)
Acting FAS Assistant Regional Administrator: Marcella Banks.
Acting Deputy FAS Assistant Regional Administrator: Tyree Varnado.
* Zone F (the former Pacific Rim and Northwest/Arctic regions)
Acting FAS Assistant Regional Administrator: John Boyan.
Acting Deputy FAS Assistant Regional Administrator: Gary Casteel.
Also today, GSA named Jeff Koses as acting assistant commissioner for acquisition management, one of the divisions in FAS.
David Bibb, GSA's deputy administrator, will become acting administrator effective Nov. 1. Administrator Stephen Perry, who has served since 2001, will be leaving the agency Oct. 31.
