Wynne wins confirmation

The Senate last Friday confirmed the nomination of Michael Wynne as secretary of the Air Force.

Wynne had previously served as undersecretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology and Logistics.

The Senate also approved the appointment of John Young Jr. as director of Defense Research and Engineering. He previously served as assistant secretary of the Navy Research, Development and Acquisition.
