BearingPoint to provide Air Force training
Integrator will teach logistics to 3,500 personnel as part of supply chain modernization program.
BearingPoint will supply instructor-led training to the Air Force Materiel Command (AFMC) under a contract that could be worth as much as $21 million.
As part of the single-award contract, BearingPoint will provide logistics education and strategic consulting services to more than 3,500 supply management personnel. The training effort is part of Air Force’s Purchasing and Supply Chain Management modernization program.
AFMC is the lead command on the modernization effort, which aims to reduce costs and improve purchasing and supply processes, according to the Air Force.
A spokesman for BearingPoint said the company has previously performed other logistics, supply chain and financial management training for AFMC. The integrator was one of three companies that the Navy chose in 2003 to provide information technology support for logistics management program at various Navy and Air Force commands, including AFMC.
BearingPoint’s subcontractors on the AFMC pact, announced Monday, include Mercer Engineering Research Center, Raytheon Professional Services, The Shenton Group, the University of Oklahoma, V8 Logistics, and Weber State University.
