Oberman to leave TSA

Justin Oberman, the Transportation Security Administration’s top official for passenger screening and credentialing programs, announced today that he is leaving the Homeland Security Department.

Oberman, DHS’ assistant director for transportation threat assessment and credentialing, will leave next month, TSA officials said.

He is returning to the private sector to work at Crestview Capital Funds, a hedge fund that invests in small companies.

Oberman oversees Secure Flight, Registered Traveler and other credentialing and screening programs.

Stephanie Rowe, a senior executive at Accenture, will replace him. Rowe has advised and consulted on several DHS programs, including Secure Flight and U.S. Visitor and Immigrant Status Indicator Technology, which screens foreign nationals entering and leaving the country to identify potential terrorists.
