Training software gets NMCI approval

RWD Technologies has received Navy Marine Corps Intranet certification for a software product that aims to boost user productivity on enterprise applications.

The software and services company’s RWD Info Pak suite creates an overlay around applications to provide immediate training for users. RWD Technologies sold licenses to Navy customers before the NMCI certification, but the seal of approval paves the way for additional sales, according to the company.

Keith Dalton, global vice president of sales, marketing and public sector at RWD Technologies, said the company anticipates generating $30 million in RWD Info Pak sales to the Navy next year. The $30 million sales figure would represent a third of the company’s revenue, he added.

A test project with the Naval Education and Training Command put RWD Technologies on the NMCI trail. The command had heard about RWD Info Pak and commissioned the project, Dalton said. The Navy organization eventually sponsored the company’s NMCI certification.

Another customer, the Naval Air Systems Command, tapped RWD Info Pak before certification. The command, which has implemented SAP’s enterprise applications, purchased a limited number of licenses, Dalton said. He said he expects Navair to buy additional licenses now that NMCI certification is in place. The Marine Corps has also made inquiries, he said.

RWD Technologies and SAP in September announced a global distribution pact, in which SAP Education incorporates RWD Info Pak in its SAP User Training and Performance Solutions.
