The Office of Personnel Management has added the State Department’s Foreign Service Institute to its E-Training faculty.

The Office of Personnel Management has added the State Department’s Foreign Service Institute to its E-Training faculty. In a memorandum of understanding signed earlier this month, OPM named FSI to its E-Training Service Provider Consortium as a content provider, allowing it to offer agencies a full range of e-learning goods and services.E-Training, one of 24 e-government initiatives, is a portal that lets agencies share content and connect e-learning programs. The memorandum also allows FSI to be a preferred provider for agencies requiring training content for the foreign affairs community, OPM said.FSI joins OPM’s GoLearn, the National Security Agency’s FasTrac and the Commerce Department’s National Technical Service as OPM-recognized service providers, OPM said.“The addition of the Foreign Service Institute to the consortium will lead to increased training and services while providing the most innovative tools for those who serve as the face of America to the world,” said Dr. Jeff Pon, acting project manager of OPM’s E-Training Initiative.
