DHS helps DOJ with case management systems
The departments want to create a Consolidated Enforcement Environment to improve information sharing, DHS' CIO said.
The Homeland Security Department is helping the Justice Department develop new case management systems for the entire federal government, DHS’ chief information officer said today.
DHS is working with DOJ to create a Consolidated Enforcement Environment (CEE), which allows access to all available data, analyzes data and links relevant law enforcement partners, DHS’ CIO Scott Charbo said.
One goal of the collaboration is to move beyond products and create a layer of information that can be used governmentwide, Charbo said. “The real core to solving the business problem is standardizing data” and real-time information sharing, he said.
Charbo said he didn’t know if DHS will have a procurement for CEE because both departments want to leverage as much existing infrastructure as possible, Charbo said.
