DOD review of $13B Encore II to be completed by Feb. 14

Revisions expected, with new due date 30 days after release of new amendment.

The Defense Information Systems Agency said it expected an internal review of its $13 billion Encore II services contract proposal to be completed by Feb. 14, at which time it will issue another contract amendment with revisions to the solicitation.

DISA said that when the amendment is issued it will set a new due date for proposals 30 days from the release of that amendment. Bids on Encore II were due Jan 30, but that date was pushed back due to an internal, high-level Defense Department review, a DISA spokesman said.

DISA plans to use Encore II to support users in the military services and defense agencies as they transition from existing systems to another key DISA project, Net-Centric Enterprise Services. Encore II will help them effectively use core NCES product lines, including collaboration and discovery tools and a planned defensewide knowledge portal, DISA officials said.
