Maner to leave DHS CFO position
President Bush will nominate David Norquist to replace him.
The Homeland Security Department is getting a new chief financial officer, DHS and Bush administration officials announced yesterday.
Andy Maner, DHS’ CFO, announced Jan. 17 that he intends to leave the department March 3, department Secretary Michael Chertoff said in a statement.
President Bush will nominate David Norquist to replace Maner, Bush administration officials said in a statement.
Norquist is deputy undersecretary of Defense for budget and appropriations affairs at the Defense Department. He has also served as DOD’s comptroller and deputy undersecretary for financial management.
Maner participated in creating departmentwide systems to consolidate financial data and implemented changes to fight waste, fraud and abuse, Chertoff said. He also helped establish DHS’ U.S. Customs and Border Protection agency.
