SI lands missile defense deal

SI International will help Air Force Space Command develop the operating concepts for future ballistic missile defense (BMD) systems.

SI announced today that it received a $4 million contract to provide systems engineering and technical analysis. The contract is for two years with one base year and one option year, according to a Jan. 26 company statement.

SI will provide services for current and future BMD programs including pre-systems acquisition planning and life cycle engineering and technical support. The command awarded the task order under the Contract Advisory and Assistance Services and Engineering and Technical Assistance contract vehicle.

“SI International has industry-recognized expertise in space systems modernization, military space operations and missile defense that support the Air Force Space Command mission in defending the United States through the control and exploitation of space,” said Brad Antle, SI’s president and chief executive officer.

For more than 12 years, the company has worked as a technical support contractor for the military’s space community including Air Force Space Command and U.S. Strategic Command, which oversees global attack, missile defense and network operations for the military.
