Kforce acquires computer consulting firm

With the completion of its acquisition of Pinkerton Computer Consultants, professional staffing firm Kforce has gained a new business unit dedicated to the federal government's information technology needs.

The acquisition, at a cost of $60 million cash, includes the Pinkerton Government Solutions Division, which will become the Kforce Government Solutions Group. William Parker, president of the Pinkerton group, will stay in that position with Kforce, according to a Kforce announcement.

"We believe the combination opens the door to federal prime contracting to provide IT solutions," said David Dunkel, chairman and chief executive officer of Kforce.

Parker said the Kforce product and client platform combined with Pinkerton's expertise will provide more ways for the company to earn revenue under federal contracts.
