SRA sets sail on Navy work

SRA International will run information technology systems aboard more than 125 Navy ships under a new IT services contract with the Navy’s Military Sealift Command.

The contract could be worth as much as $108.5 million if the government exercises all its options. According to the contract, SRA will provide operations and maintenance services for IT systems that support the command’s operations at sea. The contract includes the operation of a network and backup network operations center, according to the Defense Department.

The contract also calls for project management, hardware and software upgrades and integration, and user training. SRA’s contract team includes Advanced Information Systems Group, Anteon, Cambridge Communication Systems, Capstone, Cyberspace Technologies International, GlobalSat, InScope, Mercomms Unlimited, Milvets Systems Technology and Webster Data Communication.

Although SRA has other contracts with the Military Sealift Command, the most recent win represents new business for the company, according to an SRA spokesman. The command has also tapped SRA to integrate its networks with public-key infrastructure, support e-government efforts and develop an enterprise configuration management solution.
