SiloSmashers wins OMB lines of business work

SiloSmashers of Fairfax, Va., won three solicitations for consulting work on the Office of Management and Budget's three new lines of business to help define the scope of the lines of business and support upcoming requests for information.

The company received the first in a series of competitive contracts from the General Services Administration March 16. GSA manages the lines of business organization for OMB. The blanket purchase agreement, which was awarded to five companies in February, ends Sept. 30.

SiloSmashers will help the lines of business expand governmentwide use of e-government to advance the goals in the President’s Management Agenda to make government more efficient and citizen-centric.

“We are very pleased to support such a great program,” said Mike Proper, the company’s senior vice president of business development. Lines of business “initiatives are an important step in advancing the goal of creating the most efficient and effective government. It is the future of our federal government.”

The BPA award includes work managing programs, facilitation services and workforce planning, and IT strategy. Under the BPA, SiloSmashers will support federal efforts find ways to consolidate work and find best practices. It will also help develop guidelines, performance measures and milestones for future lines of business.

OMB task forces developing the three new lines of business — geospatial, information technology infrastructure optimization, and budget formulation and execution — are seeking comments from industry, nonprofit and federal organizations, as they develop common business solutions, a draft technical architecture and a business case for future investments.
