U.S. Access Board names Bibb chairman

The U.S. Access Board named David Bibb, the General Services Administration’s acting administrator, as its chairman, GSA announced today.

The board is an independent federal agency that coordinates governmentwide efforts to ensure accessibility for people with disabilities.

“I’m honored and humbled by the board’s decision,” Bibb said. “I look forward to working with my board colleagues as we strive to help provide assistance to all persons with disabilities.”

The Access Board works with other agencies on behalf of the public. Half the board members represent federal agencies, while citizens, most of whom have disabilities, represent the public. The president nominates board members.

Bibb succeeds Jan Tuck, a public member from Santa Clarita, Calif.
