Business Objects buys Firstlogic
Acquisition of Firstlogic adds data-quality applications to Business Objects' offerings.
Business Objects has closed its acquisition of Firstlogic, a provider of enterprise data-quality software and services. The acquisition brings Firstlogic's data-quality solutions into the fold with Business Objects' own business intelligence products.
The acquisition is part of a long-term strategy Business Objects has undertaken to develop a trusted data foundation for enterprise information management. The data-quality tools from Firstlogic give customers tools to create reliable information.
“Organizations are placing a premium on the value of accurate, complete, and timely information," said John Schwarz, chief executive officer of Business Objects, in a written statement. "Enterprise information management provides Business Objects with a significant competitive advantage in what we can offer our customers, and we expect it to play an important role in our future growth plans."
Business Objects paid about $69 million in cash for Firstlogic, according to the company's announcement.
