Manugistics agrees to be acquired
JDA will pay $211 million for supply-chain software developer.
Manugistics, the supply-chain software developer that was the second company to ink a SmartBuy enterprise license agreement with the General Services Administration, has agreed to be acquired.
JDA Software will acquire Manugistics for about $211 million in cash, the companies said in a joint announcement issued late today. By combining the two companies, JDA will have new sales opportunities and a stronger competitive position, according to the announcement.
"This deal is as close to a perfect match as you can get for an acquisition of this size," said Hamish Brewer, JDA's chief executive officer, in a written statement. The combined companies will bring in about $390 million in annual revenue, an estimate based on each company's earnings as separate entities.
