The General Services Administration has tapped Raytheon Co.’s Information Solutions to provide new hosting and professional services solutions to a handful of government Web portals, including FirstGov.gov.The one-year task order, with four renewal years, will also offer Web solutions to the Small Business Administration’s Forms.gov and Business.gov, and other agencies may use the contract before it expires.Spending under the task order is limited to $71 million.GSA officials say the contract will help agencies become more citizen-centric, as mandated under the President’s Management Agenda.“FirstGov Web Solutions will allow other agencies to have quick access to a wide range of Web services supporting the delivery of information and services to citizens via this task order,” said May Joy Pizzella, associate administrator for GSA’s Office of Citizen Services and Communications, which administers FirstGov.gov. “This new award creates a partnership with a team that will improve an already successful set of services for the citizen by providing integrated, state-of-the-art solutions for the delivery of government information and services.”
