EDS promotes Banerjee to global leader role

Former leader of government industry group for the Americas and Asia will now lead the business on a global scale.

Suparno Banerjee, who leads EDS’ Government Industry group for the Americas and Asia, has been named global leader of the group.

He will have a collaborative relationship with vice president Jim Duffy, who leads EDS' U.S. public-sector business, said EDS spokesman Brad Bass. Banerjee will handle the global-sector business.

Banerjee joined EDS in 2003 with more than 20 years of experience managing information technology services in the government and commercial sectors.

Previously, he was a director of Deloitte Consulting’s federal practice and also a principal at IBM Global Services, where he was responsible for strategy, consulting and sales of government e-commerce and e-services finance and administration projects.

Banerjee has worked with national and state governments and international financial agencies in telecommunications, manufacturing and distribution.

He holds a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering and a master’s degree in business administration from the Indian Institute of Management.
