USAJobs launches satisfaction survey

The Office of Personnel Management will survey job applicants’ satisfaction with USAJobs, the federal government’s official job Web site. Results of the survey will show department by department how satisfied applicants were with the process.

“We’re going to be able to show which agencies are outstanding and which agencies are out standing in the back alley,” said Dan DeMaioNewton, director of consulting services at Monster Government Solutions and program manager for USAJobs. He spoke June 13 at the Performance Institute’s National Summit on Strategic Recruitment and Retention for Government Agencies in Arlington, Va.

OPM launched the satisfaction survey at 11 p.m. June 12. The results for each agency will include applicants who complete the online process and those who abandon it. “OPM is going to be reporting on what the different scores are and how performance changes over time,” DeMaioNewton said.

“This is an industry first in recruitment,” he added. “No one has ever measured satisfaction with the application process.”

USAJobs has about 6.7 million visitors each month and 88 million to 100 million each year, he said.
