Defense contractor Northrop Grumman has named Edward Swallow vice president of strategic capture and campaigns for the company’s information technology sector. He will be responsible for finding and assessing new IT market opportunities and supporting corporate initiatives to identify and follow best practices in pursuing new business.
Swallow joined Northrop Grumman in 2001 as director of strategic development for the IT sector’s intelligence group. Previously he was vice president of business development at Steven Myers and Associates’ Government Services Group. Earlier in his career, he held capture and proposal leadership positions at Space Applications Corp. and Logicon. Swallow served in the U.S. Air Force and retired from the Air Force Reserve in 2003.
He has a bachelor’s degree in physics and astronomy from the State University of New York at Oneonta, a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Syracuse University, and a master’s degree in systems management from the University of Southern California. He is also a graduate of the Air Force's Squadron Officers School and Air Command and Staff College.
“In this critical role, Ed’s efforts will enhance our ability to capture new business more effectively with improved processes and through the use of best practices,” said James O'Neill, president of Northrop Grumman's IT sector, in a statement.
