Air Force awards $4.8M contract to BPC

The Air Force has awarded Business Plus Corp. (BPC), a wholly owned subsidiary of American Systems, a $4.8 million contract to support the Mission Control Center at Langley Air Force Base, Va.

Under the terms of the contract, BPC will provide all management, supervision and personnel for the around-the-clock operations at the Air Combat Command’s Air Operations Squadron Mission Control Center at Langley.

Lockheed Martin will serve as a subcontractor to BPC.

BPC employees at the center will monitor the deployment, refueling support and weather criteria for fighter and bomber aircraft at Langley.

Ron Costella, BPC general manager, said the award follows a five-year partnership with the command. “As a team, both BPC and Lockheed Martin are proud of our past support and look forward to supporting Air Combat Command for the next five years,” he said in a company statement.

BPC, based in Hampton, Va., was founded in 1990 and acquired by American Systems in 2003. The company provides professional and technical outsourcing management services and a wide range of information technology consulting services to government and civilian agencies.
