Navy awards CACI $96M communications contract

The Navy’s Special Communications Requirements Division has awarded CACI International a recompeted $96.4 million prime contract for integrated mobile communications systems for the Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division in St. Inigoes, Md.

The contract is for one base year and four option years, according to a company statement.

CACI has primarily worked with the division’s communications equipment, building deployable systems for command, control, communications, computers, intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance applications.

The company manufactures and integrates those systems into suitcase-sized units, vehicles and battlefield command posts. It provides life cycle support, including retrofitting systems and delivering on-site training, according to the statement.

The division provides CACI systems to Defense Department agencies that support warfighters and to organizations involved in homeland security, including the State Department, the National Guard, the FBI and the New York City Police Department.

“This most recent contract award is a clear demonstration of the continued confidence the Special Communications Requirements Division has in CACI,” said Paul Cofoni, president of CACI’s U.S. Operations, in the statement.

Based in Arlington, Va., CACI has about 10,200 employees.
