Robbins-Gioia names new CEO

Robbins-Gioia, a provider of program management services, has named John Marselle chief executive officer.

A member of Robbins-Gioia’s board of directors, Marselle joins the company from Sun Microsystems, where he led the government division. Earlier in his career at Sun, Marselle was vice president of the Americas, the company’s largest operating unit with 5,000 employees and revenues of about $10 billion. He was also president of Sun Federal, a wholly owned subsidiary of Sun, from 1992 to 1998.

Marselle will use his 27 years of technology and business experience to deepen the company’s foothold in commercial markets, including the financial services, manufacturing and technology industries.

Marselle holds numerous awards for his work with the federal government, including a Federal 100 award from Federal Computer Week.
