Brian Burns joins Education
The former chief technology officer for infrastructure at the Interior Department will serve as deputy CIO to William Vajda.
The Education Department confirmed today that Brian Burns has joined the department as the deputy chief information officer. He will report to the newly appointed CIO, William Vajda.
Burns previously was chief technology officer for infrastructure at the Interior Department. He also served as deputy assistant secretary for information resources management (IRM) and CIO at the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Indian Affairs.
He has also worked as deputy assistant secretary for IRM and deputy CIO at the Department of Health and Human Services.
Education spokesman Jim Bradshaw said he had no further details about Burns' new position.
