DHS, DOJ make awards to Accenture

The Homeland Security and Justice departments have each awarded contracts to Accenture, a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company.

DHS awarded Accenture a five-year, multiple-award, indefinite-delivery, indefinite-quantity (IDIQ) contract covering two of the five functional categories in DHS’ Enterprise Acquisition Gateway for Leading Edge (EAGLE) Solutions, the departmentwide vehicle for acquiring information technology services.

Accenture said in a statement that the award applies to EAGLE Functional Category 4, Software Development, and includes the full range of software design, development, systems integration, implementation and integration.

Functional Category 5, Management Support Services, includes enterprise architecture planning, enterprise resource management, business process re-engineering, IT transformation and strategy, organizational change leadership, training, security, and program management office support.

Financial terms of the contract were not released.

The DOJ contract covers a multiyear base and eight option periods during which Accenture will build an integrated debt collection system for the department and its components, including U.S. Attorneys Offices, the tax and litigation divisions and the offices of the chief financial officer and chief information officer.

Under the terms of the agreement, Accenture will operate and maintain the system throughout the life of the contract.

If all options are exercised and additional services are purchased under the IDIQ portion of the award, the contract has an estimated value of $54 million.

By consolidating its multiple collection systems into a single integrated system, Justice will improve its communications and reporting, provide better financial controls, and enhance data integrity, according to a statement.
