Herley Industries wins two Pacific Rim contracts

Herley Industries has received two contracts from Pacific Rim countries totaling $1.53 million. The company supplies radio frequency, microwave and millimeter wave components and subsystems to the defense and aerospace industries.

A company spokeswoman said Herley did not have authorization from the customers to release their names.

For the first customer, Herley will supply telemetry system upgrades and expects to provide an additional $2.8 million in similar system hardware in fiscal 2007.

The second award is to provide telemetry hardware to another Pacific Rim customer.

Both have done business with Herley for many years, according to a company statement.

“We are particularly pleased with these awards, which have resulted from our growing relationships within the Pacific Rim,” said John Kelley, Herley’s president, in the statement. “While serving our existing customers, we are also working aggressively to cultivate new business opportunities in the region.”

“We expect order activity from the Pacific Rim and Middle East countries to be particularly strong during fiscal 2007,” he said.

Herley is based in Lancaster, Pa., and has eight manufacturing locations and more than 1,000 employees. Its partners include Northrop Grumman and its clients include the Defense Department, the spokeswoman said.
