OPM targets federal job applicants in Fresno area
TV ads, part of a nationwide campaign designed to attract qualified and experienced Americans into the federal civilian workforce, will run there for two weeks.
The Office of Personnel Management premiered a series of TV commercials Sept. 11 encouraging individuals in Fresno, Calif., and the central San Joaquin Valley to consider careers with the federal government.
The ads, part of a nationwide campaign designed to attract qualified and experienced Americans into the federal civilian workforce, will run for two weeks.
A similar TV ad campaign ran earlier this summer in the Wheeling, W.Va., area.
“There are more than 21,800 job opportunities in the federal government right now, and we need talented Americans looking to make a difference to come see what we have to offer,” OPM Director Linda Springer said in a statement. "Now more than ever, America needs talented and skilled people to come and be a part of the federal government.”
The ad campaign, which premiered at the National Press Club in Washington, D.C., earlier this year, is aimed at raising awareness of the careers available in the civil service. Ads featuring federal workers explain the opportunities.
