BearingPoint promotes Judy Ethell to CFO

BearingPoint, a management and technology consulting firm, announced that it has promoted Judy Ethell to chief financial officer. She had been an executive vice president and chief accounting officer.

She will report to Harry You, the company’s chief executive officer.

Ethell will retain her title of chief accounting officer while You, who has served as interim CFO since May 2005, will focus solely on his role as CEO, the company said in an announcement Oct. 19.

In the 15 months that Ethell has been executive vice president and chief accounting officer, she has transformed the finance organization by retooling and materially upgrading the company’s accounting, financial reporting and auditing functions, according to the company.

Ethell was also responsible for developing and implementing new global financial control, human resources and client reporting systems.
