The federal government-hosted search engine FirstGov.gov added new search capabilities for finding news and images from government sources, the General Services Administration announced today.

The two new features, located in the upper-right corner of the Web portal, allow users to search data across official online sources. GSA said accurate and applicable search results are integral to citizen satisfaction, and the new features add relevancy and capacity to FirstGov’s searches.

FirstGov provides official information from multiple federal, state, local and tribal government resources.

These features add to the search technology FirstGov introduced in January. Officials intend to add more features to help users find government information and services, GSA said.
