GAITS hires Air Force general to command operations, growth

Retired Air Force Lt. Gen. Richard Brown III has been named chief operations officer and executive vice president at Global Analytic Information Technology Services (GAITS), an Alexandria, Va.-based provider of IT and network solutions for security, defense and electronic government.

In a statement Tony Asefi, GAITS’ chief executive officer, said Brown will spearhead the company’s operations and strategic growth.

Brown, a pilot with more than 3,500 hours in jet fighters, retired in 2004 after a 34-year career in the Air Force, where he held many senior staff and command positions in joint and service programs. His last assignments were deputy chief of staff for personnel and then acting assistant vice chief of staff at Air Force headquarters in Washington, D.C.

Since his military retirement, Brown has worked as a group senior vice president of Air Force Programs at Anteon, where he oversaw the development of new business with the Air Force and the management of several large programs.

Brown has bachelor’s of science degrees in psychology and history from Texas Christian University and a master’s degree from the University of Oklahoma. He is also a graduate of Air Command and Staff College and the National Defense College.
