GSA awards SiloSmashers program support contract

The management and technology consulting firm will advise GSA and a number of federal management offices on standardizing financial business processes.

The General Services Administration has awarded a program support contract to SiloSmashers, a Northern Virginia management and technology firm, for GSA’s Financial Management Line of Business.

A news release from SiloSmashers does not include financial terms.

According to the announcement, the company will work with the business line Project Management Office and its executive committee, the Office of Management and Budget, GSA, the Financial Systems Integration Committee, and participating agencies to standardize financial management business processes and performance metrics, and plan for agency migration to the shared services centers.

SiloSmashers and its subcontractor team of KPMG and e-Source Technologies will provide support services for a broad spectrum of projects designed to improve shared services solutions and foster efficiencies in federal financial operations, according to the statement. They include: management support, migration planning guidance, standard business processes, performance measures, updating Financial Management Exhibit 300 and executive support.

“The goal of this project will be to provide a solution that enables the government to minimize redundant approaches executed throughout multiple agencies in an effort to meet their individual financial management needs,” said Bruce Higgins, SiloSmashers’ senior vice president of business development. “Ultimately the streamlining of these processes will unify government operations around citizen needs.”
