Army tasks Multimax with IT consolidation

The $14.3 million contract calls for consolidating nine previously separate IT task orders at Fort Monmouth, N.J.

The Army has awarded a new task order to Multimax, a provider of performance-based information technology and communications services to the Defense Department and civilian agencies, the company announced today.

The award falls under the Army’s IT Enterprise Solutions contract and covers one base year with two one-year options. The company, based in Herndon, Va., said it can earn as much as $14.3 million, if the service exercises all options.

The prime contractors are QSS Group and General Dynamics.

Multimax will consolidate the IT services previously performed under nine separate task orders for the Army’s Team Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance headquarters at Fort Monmouth, N.J., an installation with 7,000 users.

According to Multimax, the work will encompass a full range of IT support, including mail messaging, desktop PC support, centralized help-desk support, Web and data network services, network and operations security, and maintenance.

Carleton Jones, chief executive officer of Multimax, said the company has been working with the Fort Monmouth base for 12 years.

Netco Government Services purchased Multimax in June.
