CSC announces $643M in third-quarter contracts

Computer Sciences Corp.’s Federal Sector business unit signed 110 previously unannounced contracts and subcontracts during CSC’s fiscal 2007 third quarter, which began Oct. 1 and ends Dec. 29. The contracts, which range in duration from one month to 10 years, have a total estimated value of $643 million if all options are exercised, CSC said in a statement today. They include contracts with the Navy, the Army, NASA, the intelligence community, and state and local government agencies. According to CSC, civilian agencies accounted for 40 of the awards and were worth about $115 million. Defense Department agencies accounted for 70 contracts, with a total value of about $528 million. Details of individual contracts were not reported.“CSC’s Federal Sector business unit continues its robust performance and is delivering according to our expectations,” said Van Honeycutt, CSC chairman and chief executive officer, in the statement. “These contracts signify the confidence our clients have in CSC’s ability to apply our vast experience and expertise to deliver business results for projects on the largest and smallest scales for a diverse cross section of agencies.” The global information technology services company is based in El Segundo, Calif., and reported revenue of $14.6 billion for the 12 months ended Sept. 29.
