Brasseux becomes acting deputy FAS commissioner
He will serve until a permanent selection is made and will continue in his current position as the agency's assistant commissioner for travel, motor vehicles and card services.
Federal Acquisition Service Commissioner Jim Williams announced today the appointment of Barnaby “Barney” Brasseux as acting deputy FAS commissioner. He started Feb. 1.
Brasseux will serve until a permanent selection is made. He will continue in his current position as the agency's assistant commissioner for travel, motor vehicles and card services. The position is vacant after former Deputy Commissioner Marty Wagner retired Jan. 31.
“I’m looking forward to working more closely with Barney on the major challenges facing FAS,” Williams said. “His experience and background more than qualify him for the role.”
Brasseux has been at GSA for 13 years and has held a variety of positions, including assistant commissioner for vehicle acquisition and leasing services and chief of staff for GSA’s Federal Supply Service.
