Easter adds to Navair portfolio

Steffanie Easter is the new assistant commander for acquisition at Naval Air Systems Command. Easter is the acquisition executive, and has responsibilities and management accountability for eight program management offices. She also leads the Navair Acquisition/Program Management Competency, managing about 720 civilian and military employees.

Before taking on her new role, Easter was deputy program executive officer for Tactical Aircraft Programs from December 2002 to January. She was responsible for providing acquisition, engineering and technical services to the Navy for various aircraft, aircraft protection systems, air traffic control systems and combat identification.

Easter began her civil servant career in 1985 as an engineer and scientist developmental program support equipment engineer at Navair. She held subsequent positions as Navair Avionics Systems project officer engineer, systems engineer for the Tomahawk program, deputy for acquisition at the Navair E-2C Hawkeye Program Office, and Navair principal deputy program manager for the Advanced Tactical Aircraft and Protection Systems Program Office. In 2002, Easter was selected to join the Senior Executive Service.
